The Buddhist Eternal Spring Association sponsors the Dance of the Lion at Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year. Among cymbals, drums, gongs and firecrackers, the lion devours red envelopes filled with cash stuffed by onlookers. This cultural tradition is meant to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck.
